Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Welcome to team ron mattern's fundraising page!

Ron was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March of 2016. He fought this devastating disease with incredible strength and perseverance for 15 months before passing away in June 2017. Ron was strong, fearless, intelligent, funny, and full of life. He was an amazing husband, father, friend, and person.

Since his passing, my family and I have proudly participated in PurpleStride Philadelphia to honor my Dad and to help others affected by pancreatic cancer. We stride to honor Ron's incredible legacy and with hope to raise awareness, to support patients and families, and to push toward a cure.

Pancreatic cancer does not stop or slow down, and neither do we! With your support, we can make progress. Your participation and fundraising make all the difference. On Saturday, April 25th, 2026, survivors, families, caregivers, researchers, and supporters will come together at PurpleStride events across the nation to honor everyone touched by this disease. Please join Team Ron Mattern as a participant or make a gift of any size to help us reach our fundraising goal and continue Waging Hope.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s #1 way to raise funds for life-changing programs and services. Let’s turn Philadelphia and the nation purple this April!!!

Thank you for your support!

Forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace Ron Mattern (8/31/1960-6/1/2017).
