Our family lost our mom, our grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, and HERO to pancreatic cancer on August 14, 2017. She fought with extraordinary courage, not just for herself, but for her daughters and grandchildren whom she loved with her whole heart. One day before her passing, she shared a beautiful and peaceful outing with us in Ruidoso, NM, breathing in the cool forest air surrounded by the people she cherished most.

Our family was impacted again when we lost our Aunt Rosa Perales in March (2024) and our Aunt Rosa Villalobos this past October (2024). Their losses have only strengthened our commitment to raising awareness and standing with every family affected by this devastating disease.

Our team name, Her Way, was inspired by our mom’s favorite song, My Way. Throughout her battle, she reminded us again and again, that she would face this disease her way. And she did. With grace, strength, and a spirit that never wavered.

We walk for her. We walk for our aunts. We walk for every family fighting this battle.
Together, with Her Way, we honor their legacy and push forward for hope, for awareness, and for a future with earlier detection and better outcomes.

 Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, even though the five year survival rate has jumped from 10% to 13%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
