Support Pancreatic Cancer Research in Fiscal Year 2022

Dear [Decision Maker],

As your constituent and a member of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network community, I write to request that you support life-saving cancer research for pancreatic cancer as you continue to work on and finalize the fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills.

The facts about pancreatic cancer:
- One of the deadliest cancers
- The survival rate is just 10%
- 3rd leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States
- The cause is unknown
- There is no early detection test, and few effective treatments are available

Federal funding is key to advancing important research progress. In recent years, we've seen progress thanks to the bipartisan support in Congress for pancreatic cancer research funding, but we need to learn more about the disease to ultimately improve patient outcomes. To save lives, we need sustained investments in pancreatic cancer research.

I ask that you pass a FY 2022 budget that includes:
- $20 million for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Program at the Department of Defense
- $51.7 billion for the National Institutes of Health, including $7.6 billion for the National Cancer Institute

Pancreatic cancer patients simply can't wait.

Sincerely,
