I'm passionate for traditional journalism and believe it serves a critical role in our world. I first started in TV news at 17 running cameras and master control. Fast forward a few years and I still enjoy the art of the industry. I enjoy covering health and consumer stories that offer helpful info to viewers.
My career started in WV and spanned the southeast in TN, VA and SC, both in TV and Radio. I've also been teaching communication for several years, currently for Madison College. I learn a great deal from my students, most importantly to always keep the excitement for your passion and know that you can always believe in the future.
I completed a BA at Concord College in Athens, WV and an MA at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
In my free time I love to sing and dance! My favorite style to sing is Big Band and torch songs. On a fun note, I've sang the anthem for decades now at nearly every possible event. I enjoy singing for the Madison Mallards each year, as does my little guy. I've also sang for 5 Major League Baseball games, including the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers. I've also really enjoyed learning latin dances, performing for a variety of local events with renowned partners. I hope to also learn to tango and waltz!
I also love recipes, cooking and food TV! I come from a long-line of cooks! My recent ventures also led me to write my first children's book, with more on the way. I hope to also write a family recipe compilation book as well.
I'm married to my wonderful, supportive husband, Nick and we have one sweet son and a fluffy standard poodle!
