We can’t wait to see you at PanCAN PurpleStride Phoenix on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
PanCAN PurpleStride is almost here and we’re making this year our biggest yet. We’re bringing together pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters in your community for a memorable day, and we want you there! Take a walk around the event village before our opening ceremony – write on the tribute wall, take pictures with your team in the photo area, and even grab a snack. Then, be inspired during the opening ceremony before you set off to take steps to end pancreatic cancer.
Join us at the ultimate event to end pancreatic cancer. Your participation and fundraising make all the difference.

Jared Dillingham
Jared began anchoring the evening newscasts on 3TV in 2018, after working every shift possible over his 13 years at the station.
Since moving to Arizona, Jared has covered everything from Senator John McCain's campaign for president, to the Jodi Arias trial, to the largest wildfire in Arizona history. He's filed reports from Vietnam, the DMZ, Mexico, and Washington, DC.
Jared won three Emmy Awards for stories on vulnerable children in Arizona. They focused on children in immigration court, the struggles LGBTQ youth face at home, and special education students in a unique music program.
In addition to his evening anchor duties, Jared hosts the "Now Boarding" travel segment on "Good Morning Arizona" each Sunday, and runs a travel blog full of advice on making quick, efficient trips to cities around the world.
Jared grew up in New York, and graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in broadcast journalism and political science.
After internships at News12 Long Island and NBC in Washington, DC, Jared moved to beautiful "Big Sky Country." He spent a year at KRTV in Great Falls, Montana, before moving to KREM in Spokane, Washington.
The Valley has truly become "home" for Jared. He lives in Phoenix, and spends his mornings listening to as many news and political podcasts as possible, while walking his puppy mill rescue, Myrtle.
Year-round, Jared can be found hiking Piestewa Peak or Camelback Mountain, or escaping to other trails around the state
Rachel Velarde
Rachel Velarde is a voice teacher and professor of music at Grand Canyon University. She teaches voice lessons both in her private voice studio, Velarde Voice, and at GCU. In 2002, her mother Dottie died of pancreatic cancer at age 59, after a three-year fight. Rachel was 29. Her daughter was 1. As a singer and voice teacher, she found that singing the National Anthem for PurpleStride each year is a way she can consistently give back to the PanCAN community. She has been serving Phoenix PanCAN in this capacity since 2012.
