Everyone who registers and raises or self-donates $50 or more by event day will receive the official PanCAN PurpleStride 2023 T-shirt, available for pick up at your event. We’ll do our best to ensure supply and preferred sizes, but T-shirts are subject to availability.
All pancreatic cancer survivors who register for PurpleStride are eligible to receive a special survivor T-shirt with no fundraising minimum required.
Corey McPherrin
Thank you to Fox 32’s Good Day Chicago co-anchor Corey McPherrin for joining the fight against pancreatic cancer as event Emcee!
Corey McPherrin was born and raised in Chicago's South suburbs where he dreamed of one day becoming a sportscaster in his home town. Corey started his broadcasting career in Davenport, Iowa in 1977. He also worked as a sports broadcaster in Quincy, Illinois, New Orleans and Atlanta. While in Atlanta Corey received an Emmy in 1984 as "Outstanding News Performer" in the state of Georgia.
Before his return to Chicago, Corey served as the primary sportscaster at WABC-TV in New York for seven years (1984-91). During his time in New York, Corey also contributed to ABC Sports as a college football play-by-play announcer and reporter for the sports anthology show "Wide World of Sports." In 1991 Corey came home to Chicago when he assumed sports anchor duties at WBBM-TV.
In 1995, Corey moved to Fox Chicago, where today he co-anchors the morning news broadcast, "Good Day Chicago." Previously, Corey served as the sports anchor for "Fox Chicago News at Nine" and also co-hosted the Bears pre-game show "Fox Kickoff Sunday" and the Sunday night sports wrap-up show, "The Final Word." Corey's earned five Emmy awards during his 16 years at Fox Chicago.
Corey is a 1977 graduate of Butler University where he serves as a member of the school's board of trustees.
