HOW TO CREATE YOUR TEAM

  1. If you’re the designated team captain, you will be the one to register your team by selecting “Create a Team.” You’ll need to register first and create the team before others can join it.

    If you have participated in PurpleStride in the past, register as a returning participant. If you can't remember your username or password, you can select "Email me my login" or contact us at events@pancan.org

  2. Choose a team name and set a fundraising goal. If you’re registering a company team, choose your company from the dropdown list. If your company is not in the list, contact corporaterelations@pancan.org for assistance.

  3. Complete your registration and log in. Go through the rest of the registration process, where you'll select your participation type, enter additional details and get access to My Strider Central. The login button is at the top right of the website.

STEPS TO SUCCESS

  • Personalize your team page. Your story tells people why you stride and why you started your team. Team captains who personalize their page raise three times more than those who don’t. For more information on how to personalize your page, see our helpful how-to guide.
  • Ask your friends, coworkers and family to join your team. The more the merrier – and you’ll raise more money to support lifechanging programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients, too!
  • Use and share our fundraising tools. If you’re a team captain, encourage the whole team to fundraise!
  • If you’re a team captain, coach and inspire your team! Encourage all team members to share their “why” – it inspires each other and leads to more fundraising success.
  • Make your plan for event day:
    • Communicate packet pickup info (if you will pick up for the team, make sure you let them know).
    • Encourage your team to show their purple spirit! Wear purple wigs, glasses, scarves, etc.
    • Remind the team to bring in any last-minute donations and dress for the weather.
    • Pick a meeting place for event day and hold a team "huddle" to share who you stride for.
    • Make sure to get a team photo before the event! Don't forget to share your team photo on social media with #PurpleStride.
    • Designate a meeting spot in advance.
    • Print your customized company sign to carry proudly at the event.
    • Check to see if your team has qualified for Passion or Elite Team status. Check our Fundraising Incentives for full details.
  • Thank Your Team and Donors:
    • Make sure to thank your team members and your donors for their support. You can give shout-outs anytime.
    • Tag people on Facebook with a thank you message: Thanks, Jane Doe, for your generous donation to my #PurpleStride team!
    • Send personalized messages or letters using our sample templates as a guide. You can also thank your donors using the PurpleStride App.
