Pancreatic cancer does not stop or slow down, and neither do we!

We are going to help make progress, with your support.

Dwaine and I are again participating in PurpleStride, a year-round national movement that funds life-changing programs via PanCAN.  PanCAN  (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) funds research, provides free services for pancreatic cancer patients including clinical trials, and advocates for more federal funding.   Thanks to your support, we have moved five-year survival rates up over 200% since PanCan began 25 years ago.

We both lost our first spouses, Chuck Mattei and Sally Reitler, to this disease and now volunteer with PANCAN.  We believe it is our best hope to fight pancreatic cancer.  Steve Jobs, Alex Trebek, John Lewis, Ruth Ginsburg, Senator Harry Reid, and Jimmy Buffett have tragically died from this illness.  Last year three of our neighbors had family and friends with new diagnoses of pancreatic cancer.  This reminds us how important our fight is to people just like us.

PURPLE STRIDE of Orange County this year is April 27 at The Honda Center in Anaheim.  Funds raised locally are distributed nationally.   Support and/or attend any Purple Stride event you can.  There is likely one near you on April 27 if Anaheim is too far.
