Welcome to our team fundraising page!

My dad, Harry Friedman, was the best man I knew. He was a Washingtonian through and through -- born in a house where today stands the Department of Agriculture and lost to pancreatic cancer 11 days before his first grandson, Harry William Holtzclaw, was born.

Dad liked life's simplest pleasures: hot dogs, cheese, feeding the ducks at the Reflecting Pool, the Redskins and Senators, gin rummy. He drove a cab in DC for 50 years and knew every nook, cranny and crevice of the most famous city in the world.

We lost him on July 3, 1997, when I was 9 months pregnant. I was in his hospital room the December before when the doctor told him about the malignant tumor that was pancreatic cancer. My dad's words trailed off when he said, "I guess that's how the ballgame ends."

On July 14, 1997, my first son was born, named for my dad and Mike's dad (not the two princes as some think). My dad would have made the best grandfather.

This team, my efforts for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, are all on behalf of my dad -- in memory, in support, in his honor. It's the lone cause I ask for donations for and I will keep doing so as long as this awful disease robs us of who we love.

My son, Harry not only makes me proud. He would make my dad equally proud.
