Welcome to Team Love for Cheryl PanCan Purple Stride 2023 fundraising page!
To know her, was to love her. On December 2nd, 2022 our beloved sister, mom, wife, daughter, and friend ended her courageous 9 month battle against stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. Throughout Cheryl's battle she never lost hope in the possibility of a breakthrough cure becoming available and she found comfort in the connections she made with those facing a similar battle.
We launched Cheryl's Hope in April 2022, one month after she received her diagnosis; in a few short weeks through the help and support of her friends and family we raised over $10,000 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. And in those few weeks we organized over 130 of our friends, family, and allies across four different cities to walk beside Cheryl in her fight. Although her battle ended too soon, OUR fight against Pancreatic Cancer continues for HER; and for those newly diagnosed, their caregivers and friends, and all those whose lives were dramatically effected by this devastating disease.
We will continue to walk in Cheryl's honor and to do everything we can to put an end to Pancreatic Cancer; and to create a hope for a brighter future for other PC fighters and their caregivers
We invite you to join our team as a participant in the Chicago walk on Saturday, April 29th, 2023. If you're not in the Chicago area, and you'd like to join us for this nationwide walk in your local city we invite you do that as well! Your love and support is welcome from across all states. If you need help setting up Team Cheryl's Hope in your city, feel free to message me (marie.verceles@gmail.com) directly.
If you'd like to donate funds to and to help us achieve our team goal we will gladly accept donations of any sizes. Donations directly support the Pancreatic Cancer Network, where your donations provide access to patients like Cheryl who are faced with similar challenges and uncertainty. The donations support:
- Vital research to bring new treatment options to patients
- Access for early detection against Pancreatic Cancer
- Personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services
Every dollar you give means more patients can benefit from PanCAN’s free, one-on-one support, personalized information, service and resources that can make a real difference in their lives.
