Hi everyone,
As some of you may know, in July 2021 my Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Prior to diagnosis, he presented no symptoms other than a lingering stomach ache. Thanks to modern medicine and the wonderful advancements in cancer treatment, we were blessed with 11 beautiful months with him past diagnosis.
In an effort to give other families even more time with their loved ones, we have decided to raise money for pancreatic cancer research via participating in the PanCAN PurpleStride Chicago 2023 walk on Saturday April 29, 2023. This is just 4 days after what would have been Dad’s 58th birthday and what will be his first heavenly birthday.
My Dad was a giving man. Even while fighting his own personal battle, he still found the time to help others whenever he could. Everything from sitting in on a meeting with United Way to discuss ways of helping disabled individuals, to building a much needed storage shelf for his daughter, and even trying experimental medicines to help find advancements in fighting his disease. That's why we walk, we walk because Dad found ways to help even when he was the one that needed it most.
Our team goal is to raise $2,000 and I know with the help of all of our family and friends and countless lives my Dad impacted, we will get there with no problem.
Patients like our Dad, and families just like us need our help and donations now more than ever. Together we’ll take the steps to end pancreatic cancer.
Thank you for your support and any contribution you can make towards our goal. God bless!
