The Z Team is back and participating in PanCAN’s Chicago PurpleStride walk! 
This year the walk is taking place on April 27th at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. This is PanCan’s largest fundraising event of the year, and every dollar raised counts toward improving outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients.

As many of you know, Bill was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2019 and passed away in August 2022. Twenty years earlier he lost both parents to pancreatic cancer when there was little to no treatment except surgery. They were both Stage 4 when diagnosed, so that wasn’t even an option. Bill was Stage 2b when diagnosed. The five-year survival rate was 9% and we knew he was in the fight for his life. He did every treatment that was available to him and more. There were no clinical trial options available to him and no targeted immunotherapy developed yet for him.

PanCan.org works to raise awareness about symptoms and provide research, patient and caregiver support, and advocate for new treatments to increase survival time. Now in 2024, the survival rate is 13%.
