A man of courage, Ray always seemed to be helping someone, always giving his advice and his heart. When he found out he had pancreatic cancer, his thoughts were not of himself but of his family and others. Ray contemplated how this disease would affect them and how he could get everything situated and in its place, ready for when he was not able to be here to take care of it. He was always preparing and organizing each day from morning to night with his cooking to family matters. In the morning, he would make coffee for is wife and start her car and at the end of the day he would cover her car windows with towels so they would not be frosted the following morning. His second love was creating; whether it was cooking, woodworking or gardening. Ray was a thinker who was always imagining a better way to do things for those special people in his life to make their lives easier. When he entered a room, it lit it up because of his demanding presence, he enjoyed making people happy and entertaining them. Ray’s last days with us he never ceased to amaze anyone with his ability to make us laugh with his humor and animated facial expressions. Even with the pain he was enduring you would never know. This is the amazing gift of charisma that Raymond had, to draw people towards him so that they may listen to what he was teaching them.
